Speech Pathology Advisory Board
Our Speech Pathology Advisory Board includes people with lived experience, carers, clinicians and service providers. In partnership with Deakin staff, the board ensures our graduates are prepared for diverse, real-world practice.
About the board
The Speech Pathology Advisory Board is comprised of people with communication and swallowing disability, carers and individuals with lived experience of disability, speech pathologists and local service providers. The board works in partnership with academic staff to ensure that Deakin speech pathology graduates are prepared to meet the needs of individuals, families and communities in a dynamic and diverse practice environment.
Guidance from the advisory board ensures our teaching is grounded in real-world insight and supports the development of graduates who are ready to contribute to inclusive, evidence-based and person-centred speech pathology practice across the lifespan.
